System requirements
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple Silicon or Intel.
- On-device AI needs macOS 26 on Apple Silicon (capture analysis & parts ID). Everything else works without it.
- Any drive or folder holding scope/meter captures to sync, plus an optional FNIRSI LCR-P1 connected over USB for firmware flashing (the rest of the app works standalone).

Opening Benchwave the first time
Benchwave is notarized by Apple, but distributed outside the App Store. The first time you open it:
- Move Benchwave.app to your Applications folder.
- Right-click (or Control-click) the app and choose Open, then confirm.
- If macOS still blocks it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Try it with sample data
Want to see Benchwave with real content before building your own? Download this sample pack (41 components, 10 example projects) and import it from within the app.
In Benchwave, choose Import and select this file. It recognises what's inside and lets you choose what to bring in.
Firmware updates
Advanced users can flash the FNIRSI LCR-P1 component tester's firmware straight over USB, an experimental path aimed at tinkerers. Read the on-screen instructions carefully before flashing firmware, and if you're not confident, use the manufacturer's own tools instead. We can't take responsibility for damage to a device caused by incorrect use of this feature.
